Supposedly “Refresh” is not supposed to delete ‘data’, just apps. I re-installed notpad++, and it looks like a virgin install. Can I recover my notepad++ files/settings?

from
C:\Windows.old\Users\dennis\AppData\Roaming
to
C:\Users\dennis\AppData\Roaming

Started up Notepad++, and all looks well so far.

Check in your
%APPDATA%
directory (no clue where this is under Win8) and there should be several xml files there. If it was installed to save these settings alongside the exe then most likely Windows didn’t know it was “data” that needed saved.
