<p dir="auto">Pretty easy, indeed !</p>
<p dir="auto">First, I would advice you to <strong>BACKUP</strong> your active <strong>session.xml</strong> configuration file, just in case you’ll <strong>not</strong> like the new layout !</p>
<p dir="auto">Depending on your <strong>initial</strong> N++ installation ( With the <strong>installer</strong> OR from a <strong>ZIP</strong> or <strong>7Z</strong> archive ), it may be located :</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p dir="auto">In the <strong><code>same</code></strong> folder as <strong><code>Notepad++ .exe</code></strong>, in case of <strong>local</strong> installation</p>
</li>
<li>
<p dir="auto">In case of <strong>classic</strong> installation, with the <strong>installer</strong>, you probably find it :</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p dir="auto">In <strong><code>%AppData%\Roaming\Notepad++</code></strong>, for a <strong>W7</strong>, <strong>W8</strong> or <strong>W10</strong> configuration</p>
</li>
<li>
<p dir="auto">In <strong><code>%AppData%\Notepad++</code></strong>, for a <strong>XP</strong> or <strong>Vista</strong> configuration</p>
</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<p dir="auto">So, <strong>close</strong> any instance of N++ and <strong>BACKUP</strong>, for instance, the <strong>session.xml</strong> file as <strong>BKP_session.xml</strong></p>
<hr />
<p dir="auto">Now, just follow the <strong>few</strong> steps,below :</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p dir="auto">Open <strong>N++</strong></p>
</li>
<li>
<p dir="auto">Choose the menu option <strong>Window - Windows…</strong></p>
</li>
</ul>
<p dir="auto">=&gt; A <strong>new</strong> window, named <strong>Windows</strong>, is displayed</p>
<ul>
<li>Left-click on the <strong>top</strong> of the <strong>first</strong> column, labelled <strong>Name</strong></li>
</ul>
<p dir="auto">=&gt; The list of <strong>all</strong> your <strong>opened</strong> files, in your <strong>current</strong> N++ session, are sorted, <strong>alphabetically</strong> !</p>
<ul>
<li>Then, click, to the <strong>right</strong>, on the <strong>Sort tabs</strong> button</li>
</ul>
<p dir="auto">=&gt; <strong>All</strong> the <strong>tabs</strong>, are now displayed, in an <strong>alphabetic</strong> way :-))</p>
<p dir="auto">Et voilà !</p>
<p dir="auto">Best Regards,</p>
<p dir="auto">guy038</p>
<p dir="auto"><strong>P.S.</strong> :</p>
<p dir="auto">If you don’t like it :</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p dir="auto">Delete your <strong>session.xml</strong> file</p>
</li>
<li>
<p dir="auto">Rename your <strong>BKP_session.xml</strong> as <strong>session.xml</strong> !</p>
</li>
</ul>
