<![CDATA[make cursor more visible]]>The cursor —a thin vertical bar — is virtually invisible. To check where it is, I have to enter a character!
It would be better to have a blinking underline or block (maybe white on red to indicate overwriting).
Is there an option to change the cursor appearance?

You might also want to turn on current-line highlighting. See Settings (menu) -> Preferences -> Editing -> Enable current-line highlighting.

Even if your caret was hard to see after Claudia’s suggestion (which it won’t be), this would help narrow down its location. :-)

Settings->Preferences->Editing->Caret Settings
Width and Blink rate can be modified.
