An idea just popped into my mind while using NP++. While writing an HTML document from scratch I thought it would be nice for NP++ to automatically detect the file type based on the content I inserted - also when the user wants to save the file NP++ automatically appends the corresponding file-extension.
Not super useful, but useful nonetheless and pretty cool, I thought it would be worth sharing.
Maybe this could be encapsulated into a plugin or smth.

You can use this idea however you want to, without worrying I’d have subsequent revendication.
