this is a filezilla related question.

answer:

open filezilla
go to settings > file editing
select “use custom editor” and browse to the notepad++.exe
(probably in c:\program files (x86)\Notepad++\Notepad++.exe)

from now on filezilla will use notepad++ as it’s default editor
