often I face a situation where I have codes which are saved in different locations with the same name. I make changes in one and want to refer this code to make changes in other too. But as the names of files are same, the tab names also become same. This sometimes creates a confusion. Is there any way to change the tab name only without making any changes to the file name?

This cannot be done. But, to ease your pain slightly, you can hover the mouse over any tab, and after a slight delay, the path to the file of that tab will pop up. I know, it’s not ideal…
