it can be used when programming. For example I have a small python program, a line can be indented with respect to the one above (in much the same way as a for loop for example has indented code within it). This ‘column’ can then be used to hide that indented code.</p>

<code>Preferences - Editing - Folder Margin Style</code> and select “None”. That removes it for me.</p>
