<p dir="auto">Well, not within <em>MY</em> power.<br />
It sounds like a <a href="https://community.notepad-plus-plus.org/topic/15741/faq-desk-feature-request-or-bug-report">FEATURE REQUEST</a> but probably not one that will gain much traction.</p>
<p dir="auto">Personally, I wouldn’t be so concerned.<br />
Can you load/edit/save the text files you work on, with the version of Notepad++ you have?<br />
If yes, be glad.  :-)</p>

<p dir="auto">This is a FAQ that doesn’t have an entry in the FAQ.</p>
<p dir="auto">There’s a time-delay between a new version coming out, and auto-updater being triggered.<br />
This is so that a critical bug doesn’t torch a huge number of users, just the “early adopters”.</p>
<p dir="auto">If you are so anxious for a new version, and you know (apparently) one exists, why don’t you go and get it manually and become an “early adopter”?  :-)</p>
