<p dir="auto">It should, overwrite the file, close the old instance without saving it and make the current active document the document saved. If the user does not remember the propably unsaved content of a older document, maybe add a safety dialog, but still go through with it.</p>
<p dir="auto">Software should never throw away user work. Even if it is just a few clicks.</p>

<p dir="auto">Save As has always worked for me.</p>
<p dir="auto">Can you be a bit more specific as to the exact sequence of events, the exact error message, and the exact version details (<strong>?</strong>-menu’s <strong>Debug Info</strong>).  Without that, your chances of getting any useful help are vanishingly small.</p>
