<p dir="auto">since NP++ has quite many settings now, it would be cool if it was possible to search for settings by their name when the settings dialog is open – like it’s possible in some other programs.</p>
<p dir="auto">Would it be doable in NP++?</p>
<p dir="auto">As of now, the easiest way to find a setting is to search for it on the internet and find out where it is.</p>

<p dir="auto">I used to use NppMenuSearch, and although it isn’t in my current list of plugins, I believe it does what OP desires.</p>

That said, I suspect it’s more useful for search for <em>actions</em> (e.g., remove bookmarked lines, space to tab leading) than <em>settings.</em></p>

<p dir="auto">Interesting idea.  That could come in handy.  Since it doesn’t exist yet, you could do the next best thing and go to the <a href="https://npp-user-manual.org/docs/preferences/" rel="nofollow ugc">Online User Manual’s Preferences page</a> and search through that page using your browser’s <code>Ctrl+F</code> FIND IN PAGE feature.</p>
