<p dir="auto">Are you in an IT-controlled environment that requires connecting to a proxy to connect to the internet?  If so, then you (or someone from IT) will need to launch Notepad++ As Admin, and set <strong>? &gt; Set Updater Proxy</strong> to the right value.  (127.0.0.1 is your localhost – ie your own computer – and it surprises me that it would be pointing to a proxy on your own machine)</p>
