All Notepad++ versions, since the first v1.0 to the last one can be obtained from :

http://download.notepad-plus-plus.org/repository/

In your case, @luuk-v :

• First, click on the 6.x/ link

• Then, click on the 6.9/ link

• Choose the classic installation, with the ....installer.exe or a portable installation with the other links

• You may verify your download with the npp.6.9.digest.sha1 control sums file

Noone is going to waste time with your problem unless you provide more information. Questions I think need answering are:

1. What version of Windows are you using?
2. What version of Notepad++ are you trying to download?
3. Where are you trying to download from?
4. How is the installer not working, what error message do you get?

You most likely won’t get it. The answer is above in another message from @guy038 . A valid link. I just followed, located, downloaded and then deleted the file. Read the messages. Personal response isn’t needed here.

Apparently, all the official v6.x downloads pages have links that point to .../7.x/v6.#.#. None of us regulars apparently bothered to tell Don about this problem, so the links are still wrong two years later.

I have created an issue at #11344, so hopefully Don will update those downloads pages.

I’m sorry you had trouble downloading an old version of Notepad++, though as @Lycan-Thrope mentioned, the workaround instructions for downloading the old copy have been visible earlier in this discussion for two years.

However, other than for users like me, who sometimes have to help users who refuse to upgrade their version, I cannot see much reason for downloading a copy that old. Notepad++ v6.9 has nothing going for it that a newer version doesn’t do the same or better. The recent version v8.2.1 is stable, and is highly recommended for all new installations. Do you have a reason for wanting a version that hasn’t been updated since 2016?
