Preferences are not saved and program closes all tabs when minimized

I just updated to the latest version but problem stilll persists.
When I go to settings > preferences and set my preferences there seems to be no way to save them. I set it to display line numbers, but everytime I open the program, there are no line numbers. None of my preferences are saved.The other problem that bothers me is that when i minimize the program, it closes. When I reopen the program, the file I was working on is not in the recent files list.

Getting fed up of having to scroll through the same posts each visit?
