      I would like to know what is the difference between the ‘new’ Log monitoring feature (the eye icon) vs the File Status auto detection (under Settings / Preferences / MISC ), as the behaviour seems the same to me.

      Both do not appear to update unless Notepadd++ is the active window, and both can scroll to the last line.

      Anything I’m missing?

        @nickidw

        when searching the forum you will see that log monitoring is working like tail as long
        as the underlying protocol/event processing is supporting it.

        Cheers
