I am new to this editor and I absolutely love it, but I wonder will there ever be a linux version of this editor? and if not why?

Don’t think so, as the program relies heavily on the windows api.
But you can run it under wine.Cheers

you can run it on linux with wine : https://www.winehq.org/
BUT wine provide too lib to compile native on linux for win32 programs.
