    I have a vertical white line running from top to bottom near the right side. It happened months ago and I can’t figure out how to remove it.

    I just installed v7.3.1. I thought that after several updates that it would go away but it has not. I have no idea what caused it. BTW, I have a orange background.

        Thanks Claudia! You’re awesome! I wasn’t sure if Notepad++ was corrupted or not. I still can’t figure how that happened. I don’t remember fooling around anywhere near those settings.

        BTW, what is that vertical line used for?

          @Troglo37

          used to give you a visual indication that you hit the configured character count.
          This is mostly for historical reasons where a monitor was only able to display 80 chars
          per line and/or for programming languages which do only support a certain amount of character per each line.

          Cheers
