When choosing a program to open files under Windows, Notepad++ appears to happily include some totally out-of-place spam without any remorse whatsoever. Please, remove this to decrease the overall user annoyance level.

Yes, I know it’s a free source code editor. I also know it’s distributed with the GNU license, that’s exactly why I have installed it.

Wait. You use Windows and you have time to find this annoying? :-)

If it really bothers you, you can use a Windows resource editor such as Resource Hacker to edit the metadata of the Program. You’ll find the description in the Version Info section. Simply edit it, click Compile and then save it.
