Update gone wrong? N++ loading endlessly unresponsive? Delete settings folder/dir

Last time N++ suggested an update I accepted but then cancelled the process and then have done it trough Ninite Update. Since then N++ was loading endlessly and was unresponsive and I could not reach the edit field.
Finally I figured out the settings/config folder/directory under
c:\Users\RocEurBZ\AppData\Roaming\Notepad++\
After uninstalling N++ and deleting the above configuration folder and reinstalling N++ I finally had my beloved editor back. Whew. Now need to config it properly again…
Hope this may help if someone experiences the same as I have not found evident online help/resources about such a problem.
