Issues running versions after v 7.5.1 on Wine

I’ve always been using NP++ on Wine with no issues. Currently, I’m using wine-1.6.2 on ubuntu 16.04 and cannot use any version after 7.5.2 anymore.
Installation is no problem. When I open NP++ it opens but crashes. Does anyone here have any advice how to troubleshoot the issue? I’m not getting the normal error log from Wine when something goes wrong.

That is strange. Maybe updating wine to the latest stable version might help !?
