    amazing!

first happened in one tab (after moving) and then on the second one!

      @patrickdrd

is this just for info or do you need help identifying the root of the cause?
If the latter is the case, see here .

      Cheers

          @patrickdrd

the first thing I would try is running npp without plugins
either by running it with the commandline switch -noPlugin
or by, temporarily, renaming the plugin folder.

If this solves your issue, which I assume it does, then you could
reactivate one plugin after the other to see which one is the causing one.

I do suspect the autosave plugin - just because of its feature to save files.

If disabling plugins doesn’t help and npp is still showing this behavior,
I would give it a try to use the official portable npp version.
Just because I know that portableapps do something in addition to make
npp be portable. Download one of the .zip/.7z versions from the npp homepage.

          Cheers
          Claudia

I didn’t use portableapps to download npp,
that’s just the name of the folder that I keep all my portable applications,
npp among them, I always download npp from the original website (yours),
after restarting npp the strange name in tab names was gone and it hasn’t appeared again, it was just a random one I think like another one I posted a while back
(and it still exists) with random crashes of npp on app exit

Just to make sure - I’m a npp user as you are- I haven’t developed npp.
The credit goes to @Don-HO .

it was just a random one I think like another one

hard to track down in such cases - just can say that I never experienced such thing.

ok for the first one, I didn’t know,
but anyway, I like npp a lot,
I’ve got a very old ue version aside
                just for my second editor,
I hated it when it became so heavy,
                npp is my main editor,
one of the reasons is that it’s very light

and I like your help here too,
your contribution makes npp a much better editor

                anyway, about the last part:
I know and I agree that it should be some plugin,
maybe autosave, but I need it too and
I think those crashes/misbehaviors are minor in
                comparison to what it offers,
since I got used to it (and my other plugins)
