    I just got a new SP6 and I installed the latest version of notepad++ and I open it resize and position it to size I like it. Next time I open it the app defaults back to a tiny window in top right of screen.

    I read somewhere if you del the C:\Users\cire\AppData\Roaming\Notepad++\sessions file & restart it, start new file, resize window, save it that it will remember size and position next time. It did not.

    Anyone have any ideas?

      @Johnny-Carsen

      please provide the debug-info from ? menu (the last menu item).
      What you can try is to rename C:\Users\cire\AppData\Roaming\Notepad++
      to something else and check that this gets created once you start npp.

        *Notepad++ v7.7 (64-bit)
        Build time : May 19 2019 - 13:05:35
        Path : C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe
        Admin mode : ON
        Local Conf mode : OFF
        OS : Windows 10 (64-bit)
        Plugins : DSpellCheck.dll mimeTools.dll NppConverter.dll *

        Yes, I have even renamed the Notepad++ file to Notepad++.bak and opened the app again, it did create the Notepad++ folder and files again. It opened the app in top left corner of the screen and with default size, after repositioning it to top right corner and resizing it so it covered the full screen right 1/3 of the screen. I saved the text file, closed the app. I reopened the app, it kept the new position but it defaulted to the original size. I even had it to automatically open in Admin mode but It won’t keep any window resize position.

          @Johnny-Carsen

          the build time is strange, do you build your npp yourself?
          If not, did you install it from windows store?
          If one of the answers is yes, do you mind using one of the zipped versions ?
          Just unpack it where ever you want and run notepad++.exe.
          It doesn’t use the %appdata% directory so it does not overwrite your installed version.

          EDIT: sorry, correct build time - but please try zipped version.

            I download from that link but always got the exe version.

            Downloaded the zip version this time & same result. That goes for my Surface Pro 3 & 6.

              and what exactly did you do after downloading the zipped version?
              If you start npp, what is the value for Local Conf mode : from debug-info?

                I unzipped it in my downloads folder & ran it with no luck. Then I moved it to the C:\Program Files\ folder and ran it again. Same thing.
