Severe performance degradation of new forum

When logging in, opening categories or topics or trying to write a comment, the performance of the new forum is severely impaired. Sometimes loading a page takes 10 seconds. However, the problem does not always occur. After opening some subpages of the forum, the site responds at normal speed.

I have been facing this problem since last week. Is there someone who can confirm that?

I see the same. My assumption has been that it’s because of the new forum host location, which is implied to be a massively-shared server.

I see “degradation” in the form of what appears to be “loss of connection” to the forum on an occasional basis (but much too “occasional” to not be annoying). Maybe also related to a “massively-shared server”?

I had seen the slowness described, but had never seen the “loss of connection” message… until I posted my response above. Now I’ve seen it twice this morning – once then, and once just now as I was reading your post. :-(

Yes, these annoying hints I have quite frequently, too. When they appear, the current forum page starts to reload automatically - much more annoying.

@donho : Seems like you should have a look at this.
