I don’t want to turn off autocorrect altogether, but how do I hide the popup when I’m finished typing a word and don’t want to use it at all?

For example, I am editing text and only want the letter “a” and not the suggested autocorrect word “able”…

      If the original text is…

      b. Some outline point

      …and I want to change it to…

      a. Some outline point

The popup displays and I can’t get rid of it without either accepting one of its words or clicking elsewhere with the mouse. I would like to just hide the menu immediately (with a shortcut key) and continue working.

      Thank You

        The Escape key, maybe?
