Vertical edge (line) isn't visible
-
My vertical edge has long been set to 132.
However with newer versions (perhaps since multiple values can be written) this vertical line is not visible, because there is a Space character after the number 132, as I experience. If I remove this Space, the vertical line immediately appears.
However, after restarting N++, there is no vertical line and again there is a Space character after the vertical edge setting (132).Starting without plugins the vertical edge again visible, I found that “ExtSettings” is the delinquent, enough to disable it.
Because I don’t use it, I will uninstall.Notepad++ v7.8.7 (32-bit)

@dinkumoil - just in case you haven’t seen this yet.

I tried to duplicate the OP’s experience and could not; all worked fine for me.

@Alan-Kilborn - interesting, I did a fresh local mode install (unzipped npp.7.8.7.bin.zip, 32 bit version), set the Vertical Edge, copied the ExtSettings folder containing ExtSettings.dll, and npp doesn’t show the Vertical Edge. If I remove ExtSettings folder , the vertical line appears fine.

It seems that all I contributed to this thread was noise; sorry.
I don’t useExtSettingsand I didn’t read far enough into your first posting before I went off and started trying things.
I suppose at this point I’d agree with the finding thatExtSettingsis a factor in what you are seeing.
