Suggestion in find/replace: save find/replace pattern and settings to bank
-
So find history is what, 30 entries long? And there is no replace pattern history.
I use a lot of find patterns here and there, and because I screw up many of them, my find history doesn’t last long.
Some of my find patterns would be great to keep around in a permanent bank, along with the replace pattern that I used with it, and search mode settings (regex or not).
Categorization and other notes would be great too, to allow me to “filter” (even if there’s no real filter option) my options fairly quickly, and to sort when there are a string of find/replace operations that I need to execute in series.
One workaround that I can think of is that I need to have a text file that pretty much resides in my working session, and that might just be what I will do, but even so, a bank would be way more useful and responsive.

I’m sure there are others.
And there is no replace pattern history.
If I’m understanding you correctly, I’d disagree.
But, if you mean a replace-history tied to the find-history (so they are a pair instead of individual entries) then I’ll agree. -

Yes, they would be paired ideally, but it seems strange that you would disagree if I said otherwise. For the very same reason you’d have a bank of recent find patterns (as there is today), it could be sensible to have a bank of recent replace patterns even if they weren’t tied to find patterns. But anyway, I see that others have already suggested this (more or less). Thanks.

For the record, I chose to post a comment on this issue to second the suggestion and add my remarks.
