Download default should be 64-bit, not 32-bit.

Just curious, . . . after all this time, why is the default download option on the Notepad++ web page still the 32-bit version? There are far more 64-bit installations out there, but unless you scroll down on the downloads page, you might not even notice that a 64-bit version exists. It just seems backwards. I would think that the point is extremely close (if not already past) where you could eliminate the 32-bit version entirely.

I don’t know about this.
Notepad++ prides itself on being compatible with “old stuff”, because sometimes people use “old stuff”. :-)
Our local regex guru still uses WinXP! :-)
There may be still some plugins that don’t have 64-bit equivalents, but it might be getting close to the time to “let those go” if users are still clinging, as they are likely not maintained (if they were maintained, authors would’ve added 64-bit support). -
