Notepad++ v8.1 Release Candidate is available here:
http://download.notepad-plus-plus.org/repository/8.x/8.1.RC/v8.1 regression-fixes and improvements:
- Fix regression of auto-completion performance issue (Fix #9975)
- Fix Open dialog with “Save” label for “Open” button (Fix #9966)
- Fix Notepad++ crash on dark mode while starting up (Fix #9961)
- Improve look & feel in dark mode (Fix #9982)
- Adapt Tooltips in dark mode (Fix #9962)
- Remove white line under menubar in dark mode (Fix #9984)
The release will be out in a few days if there’s no critical bug found.

Commit “Fix Notepad++ crash on dark mode while starting up” introduced a bug in displaying plugin toolbar icons in dark mode - the icons are not visible, they are replaced by a black placeholder icon.
I updated one of my plugins to support new message
NPPM_ADDTOOLBARICON_FORDARKMODE. It works with Npp v8.0 and with all AppVeyor builds prior to the one mentioned above. -
