      Hello.
Please make the ability to switch between tabs through the mouse wheel. This is a very convenient and useful feature for working with multiple tabs.
I hope this is not difficult to do and the function will appear in the near future. Thank you very much for the program, a very necessary tool to simplify work with documents.
I wish you health and well-being in this difficult Covid-time.

      Regards.

If you point in the tabs area and hold Ctrl while scrolling the mouse wheel, the active tab will change.

I’m not sure why this is valuable when you can just directly click on which tab you want, if your mouse is already in that area.

          Hello, @simpleuser, @alan-kilborn and All,

          Two solutions are possible :

          • A) ( @alan-kilborn’s solution )

            • Move your mouse pointer inside the tabs’s zone

            • Hold down the Ctrl key and, at the same time, move the wheel mouse up or down, to switch between tabs

          • B)

            • Move your mouse pointer inside the editor window

            • Hold down the right mouse button and, at the same time, move the wheel mouse up or down, to switch between the entries of the Ctrl + Tab panel

          Best Regards,

          guy038

Another alternative for quickly-switching tabs is to use the Ctrl+Tab feature – rather than explaining it here, why don’t you (OP) just try it.

To me, that’s more useful than something that switches through tabs sequentially.

Note: @guy038 's solution brings up the same window as Ctrl+Tab does.

Thanks for the instruction, but I would very much like to have an option in the settings that will allow you to switch the tabs only with the mouse wheel without a key combination.

                Please develop this option.

Please read the post in the FAQ section titled
FAQ Desk: Feature Request or Bug Report

This is a forum of members who like Notepad++ and wish to help, it is not the correct location to ask for a feature to be added. Good luck, many features don’t get added just because it is one person who wishes it.

                    It isn’t going to happen.
Just accept the behavior as it is.
