Somewhere in Hawaii...

After several months of negotiation, Honolulu government has finally agreed to name a street with my name.

@donho ,
The real question being: is that just a standard traffic stop sign, or is the photographer trying to tell you, by putting “stop” near your name, that they think Notepad++ is perfect as-is, and don’t want any more changes to the code? ;-)
Personally, I like that it is updating and getting new features, but as we’ve seen in this forum, there are a large number of users who hate change , and complain vehemently if anything is different than the previous version… That is, unless they run across a bug that they need fixed yesterday.

@peterjones
Joke aside, I think there are some points about change we should consider:-
The old behaviours, in general, are “verified” by the time and users. So if they’ve been there for quite long time, it means they suite to the most of users. They are for keeping because a good tool to me is an invisible tool - you open the tool, it works, you close it, and you don’t even notice that you just used it.

The bug-fixes/new features are definitely the changes what we should bring in. I believe we are in this direction, aren’t we?

@donho ,
Sorry, I was trying to keep things humorous, not requesting a change in the philosophy of the Notepad++ releases. I believe that bug fixes and new features are definitely changes that should be brought in, as you have been doing. Thanks for your effort.
Now, if only I could be relaxing on a beach in Hawaii, or photographing myself at that sign, instead of being in the midst of the daily grind… ;-)

I like to think so!
Cheers.

Is that the new Notepad++ wing of Starbucks, under construction in the background?
