The difference is that Paint.Net asks you if you want to update after you finish this session.

Firstly, understand that posting here will not necessarily get the attention of the developer(s) of Notepad++. Please read the FAQ post here for further information. I did check the github issues page and it would seem that this is already a feature request, namely #8457. I see the developer @donho has self assigned. Since he is the primary developer it already has his attention. Here’s hoping that there might be a change in the future.

I too use Paint.net and I love it’s “pre-close” update feature. However it possibly doesn’t suit everyone since each person has their own ideas on how they like to see the “world”.

        Good luck.

Interesting that the OP has embedded a spam link within his posting.

All readers: Feel free to flag such posts if you see a spam link embedded.

Looking at the first link (a valid link to the previous discussion), the spammer copied the original message from the previous post, then added the spam link inside the text so that it was harder to notice. So they weren’t asking anything new, and didn’t have to have any original thought, so it was probably automated: I hate the new generation of spam bots.
