    Re: Names of character sets
    Today I noticed in Wikipedia a table in which it was stated that NP++ cannot handle “DOS (OEM)”. In the screen shots, shown in this thread, I see (among other OEM character sets) : OEM 850 and OEM US. Do I misunderstand the meaning of “DOS (OEM)”, or is Wikipedia in error?

    PS I assumed that this note would appear in the thread “Names of character sets”. I see now that it appeared somewhere else, I’m sorry about that.

      It appears in “General Discussion”. It’s perfect.

        @Paul-Wormer ,

        According to the CP437 page, alternate names include “DOS (OEM)” (based on your link) and “OEM US” and “DOS Latin US”. Thus, since Notepad++ supports OEM US, it supports CP437 / “DOS(OEM)”, so Wikipedia is in error. (gasp!)

          Probably these are all reasonable synonyms for N++ users:

          • DOS (OEM)
          • OEM US
          • OEM 437
          • the ‘box drawing’ character set

            @PeterJones I corrected it, one less error in WP!
