      Hi all,

If you prefer to use the Spell-Checker.dll plugin, rather than the DSpellCheck plugin, in the new N++ versions, from the v6.8, you need to install, first, the GNU Aspell orthographic corrector, with all the dictionaries that you want to

      So the guideline is :

      • Download the Windows 32 Aspell executable and run it

      • Download the English pre-compiled dictionary and run it

      • Download all the other dictionaries, relative to your preferred languages and run them

      • Download the Spell-Checker.dll plugin in your active plugins folder

      • Start Notepad++

OK, let’s go, right now !

      • Click on the link below, to reach the GNU Aspell (Win32) site :

      http://aspell.net/win32/

      • Click on the link Full Installer

      • Once downloaded on your system, double-click on the Aspell-0-50-3-3.Setup.exe file

      • Very unlikely, you may get the dialog Aspell 0-50-3 is currently installed. Do you want to uninstall it first?.

      • Mostly, click on the Next button ( default settings )

      • Let, preferably, the two options Create a desktop icon and Create a send-to-link options UNCHECKED

      • At end, click on the Install button

      • UNCHECK the View Aspell Manual option ( HELP file in C:\Program Files\Aspell\doc\html\Manual.html )

      • Click on the Finish button to end the GNU Aspell installation

      • On the site’s web-page, in the Precompiled dictionaries section, click on the Aspell-en-0.50-2-3.exe file

      • Once downloaded on your system, double-click on the Aspell-en-0.50-2-3.exe file

      • As above, click, mostly, on the Next button ( default settings )

      • At end, click on the Install button

      • Click on the Finish button to end the English dictionary installation

      • You can delete the temporary folder, called TmpInstall, in the …\Aspell folder

      • Then, from the site, just download all the dictionaries, that you need

      • Install them, using the same way than above, with the English dictionary

Now, we, just, have to download the Spell-Checker plugin, from one of these two locations :

      http://docs.notepad-plus-plus.org/index.php/Plugin_Central

      http://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-plugins/files

      • Stop any opened instance of Notepad++

      • As the both links, above, end on SouceForge, we’d better to click on the link below :

      http://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-plugins/files/Spell-Checker/Spell-Checker Plugin v1.3.3/

      • Then click on the SpellChecker_1_3_3_UNI_dll.zip archive, to download it

      • Open the archive and extract the SpellChecker.dll in the …\Plugins folder of your N++ installation

      • (Re-)Start Notepad++

      • Choose the option Plugins - Spell-Checker - SpellChecker... or hit the ALT + CTRL + SHIFT + S shortcut to start Spell-Checker

      Et voilà !

The very nice thing is that you can, without any trouble, install, BOTH, the two correctors : DSpellCheck and Spell-Checker, simultaneously ! Done with the quite recent N++ v6.8.1 Wow :-)

      Best Regards,

      guy038

      P.S. :

In case you want to install the DSpellCheck plugin, too, just refer to my post to Violetta Buono, below :
