[Bug report] can't replace/insert characters at desired place in mixed direction typesetting
-
I am often using mixed direction typesetting, like in the following example, where the global direction is set from left to right, but there is some Hebrew text in between from right to left"
“Hello שלום באבא baba”
Notepad++ behaves as desired during the typesetting and automatically writes the Hebrew text from right to left when it feels the characters have switched to Hebrew ones. But when I try to replace/insert something in the Hebrew text, using the mouse to position the cursor, the replacement text messed at the wrong place, which makes the replacement/insertion very difficult.
I think this is a bug.NOTE: to test the bug, just copy the above example in Notepad++, and try to insert a character inside a Hebrew word.

If you make this a real bug report (see HERE for details on how to do that), then there is a user (@Yaron ) that will likely be able to help you figure this out. He’s not very active here (no login since March 2023 as of this writing) but he’s very active on github (as “Yaron10”), where bug reports belong.

@Alan-Kilborn thx. I opened a new bug report in github #14041.
Regarding Yaron10, how am I supposed to get him interested by my issue? -

Don’t worry; he’ll take an interest. :-)
