Why enable "Enable smooth font." doesn't work?

Hi
Why enable “Enable smooth font.” doesn’t work?
There is no difference in the appearance and smoothing of fonts in Windows 10
-
With Windows 10, when I toggle that, I see a tiny / barely noticeable change between the two.
When I zoomed in using mspaint to 800%, I could see that the colors for the dithering are different shades – so there was undeniable data that there was a difference, even though it was hard for my eyes to see. So it’s doing something.
But what it does might not be useful to you. Depending on your font and maybe your Windows settings (external to Notepad++), it may be that your results will be more or less noticeable than mine. Some people may find it useful, depending on their settings, but others probably won’t. Hence, it’s an option that you can try, if you want to try to get things to look “smoother” or “less smooth”; but like many of those options, it was probably added to help in a very limited set of circumstances which may or may not have been lost to memory, and it might not be generically useful.

The problem is that the font is smoothed in both cases with checked/unchecked option “Enable smooth font”.
Only smoothing method is changed. So you can see little difference when zoomed. You should get sharp and aliased fonts when this option is disabled.
Smoothing won’t go away. Thats the bug.@PiotrMP006
Uncheck “DirectWrite” option in settings (MISC.) to fix it.
