Community Question - How to start a chat with someone?

I have a question, how does someone start a chat with someone as normally on other forums, you basically click on the users profile in question and it has a send a private message feature which I assume is the same as what is called a chat. This is more of a curiosity question as I was reading the FAQ: Logging in to this Forum and in one section as a example, it mentions:
“If you signed up during that period and can no longer log in, create a new account using an OAuth/SSO provider; if you had made posts with the old account, send a chat message to @PeterJones” except I can visit the profile but no where on the profile page of the referenced user is there an option to start the chat. I can see on the top right, on the icon to the left of my own avatar, there is chat but that seems more like it’s to start a group chat.Thanks!

You click on the user’s profile, click their triple-dot, and “Start Chat With”
Or you click on the main chat icon, go to “all chats”, and click on “create chat room”, and just add the one person.
Either way are identical, as all chats in this forum take place in chat room, even if it’s just with one person.

@PeterJones - Thanks! I believe this is another one where enough upvotes is needed to earn the privilege as before, I did not see the “Start Chat With” in the triple-dot menu which is probably why the main chat icon didn’t work either. Ofcourse now, I am seeing the options after my posts had been upvoted a minimum amount of times.

Sorry about that. When writing up those instructions, I didn’t consider that people who are creating new accounts won’t have enough reputation to chat with me or another moderator… I will see if I can come up with something else…
