How to stop Notepad++ from opening up when I click on Notepad

I am trying to read .md files. Notepad++ will not do that but Notepad will. However whenever I try to start Notepad, even in Explorer, Notepad++ starts.

How can I prevent Notepad++ from starting up when I want Notepad.
