I was using an old version of notepad++ (I’m not sure what version it is). And everything went perfectly. Now, here’s my problem. When I updated to Notepad++ v6.8.6, when I select a language on the languages menu, when I save my file, it doesn’t automatically save as whatever language I choose. It will just save it as file (without any extensions) even if I choose a language on the saving window. I tried reinstalling the program but it doesn’t help fix the problem. What should I do?

Check around the forum…you’ll see this topic a good bit. In short, go back to v6.8.3 if you want the file extension or else you manually have to add it.
