      I have Kodi on my PC and exported the movie library to .NFO file(text file) which contains movie’s information. When I open the NFO file using Notepad++, some contents with foreign language are always showing funny characters. I have to manually choose UTF8 from Notepad++ menu to make them showing correctly. I wish the developer can fix the problem. There is no such problem If I use notepad2 to open the files.

        @Ken-Wu

        Settings->Preferences->MISC.
        untick Autodetect character encoding

        Settings->Preferences->New Document
        check UTF-8

        This should do the trick.

        Cheers

              I filed a bug report for this last year because I also had issues with XBMC. Go upvote it and maybe devs will finally notice it.

              Does the encoding default to “OEM-US” for you too?
