New update, language problem

I have a big problem with the newest update. When I open a document it converts characters with apostrophes ('d, 's) to weird Chinese characters. I really need to just be able to open the files and get a normal character set. Please help. Never had this problem before.

Hello @Ben-Samuels,

Can you check if under

Settings->Preferences->MISC.->Autodetect character encoding

is checked? If so, uncheck it. Reopen the document and see if issue has been solved.
