If no text is selected, run command on entire text

some menu options like convert case necessitate that we select a text, and then click on these options.
same is the pre-condition of TEXTFX plugin
I think if no text has been selected, giving the command should do that on the entire text on the currently open tab.
What is the harm? if user didn’t want that to happen, he can always undo and get his previous thing back.
Please consider this.
