Tab-stops should be settable to larger than 99 columns.

Why does the setting for tab-stops go to just 99 columns? It should be more than this. I feel like 99 isn’t enough. Ever since I switched to Notepad++ I find myself doing double-takes at my code just to figure out what is going on. 99 columns just doesn’t allow for enough whitespace. Because if you need to set tabs that large, then you are probably using tabs incorrectly.

Normally that would seem like a sane limit and if someone accidentally typed something over 99 they’d probably complain that tabs could be set so high.

I guess you’re right. It just seems like such an arbitrary limit.
