Ctrl (single character) invoking NP++

Anyone observed behavior with 7.2.2 and earlier, where pressing (for instance) in Excel (Ctrl-X) to cut a cell, shoves me over to NPP and opens a txt file that is named Excel.txt (which I created in the past) and have opened before in NPP?
