Why after update my plugin manager downgraded back to the old version?
-
I’ve just updated to v7.4.2 and noticed that my plugin manager downgraded back to the old version (1.3.5.0 January 2015). Why is this?
Just recently I’ve had this issue with the plugin manager (its version was newer as it had been updated) on version v7.3.3.
Now since I’m being strongly advised (screen below) to update my new old plugin manager I would like to know whether I should update or should I stick to the one that comes with v7.4.2?

Many thanks!

@Ahu-Lee The updated plugin manager works fine. I’m using it as we speak.

Thank you. I only don’t understand if the new version of the plugin is okay then why it has been downgraded by v7.4.2 installer?

Unfortunately latest versions of Notepad++ includes Plugin manager v1.3.5, while 1.4.5 is available already for a while.
So if you’re updating it to v1.4.5, it will be overwritten if you install Notepad++ 7.4.2 and then you have to update it again (manually).
Let’s hope that it will be fixed soon by including the latest version available of that plugin.

Version 1.4.9 is also available and it seems to be working smoothly with Notepad++ 7.4.2:

thanks you very much for your explanation and for pointing me to this new 1.4.9 version.
BTW, that zip file from github also contains the updater file gpup.exe. Do you know by any chance know what its purpose is?
