I am editing XML with default highlighting set. When I single click on a line to edit it, Notepad++ automatically highlights all of the attributes which by default seems to be very low contrast between background and foreground, making the text essentially unreadable.

I have this issue with other languages as well.

How do I turn off this highlighting?

        Settings/Preferences/Highlighting, perhaps?

OK thanks. I had tried everything under “Style Configurator” to attempt to adjust the colors, but that was to no avail. Going into Settings > Preferences > Highlighting I can simply disable that particular highlighting feature and make the problem go away by avoidance of the feature. That is what I originally asked for.

However, it would be nice to have the highlighting, just done with sensbile colors. I could not find a setting for it.
