      Hello,

      Since updating to 7.5.4, the comment menu commands do not work. CTRL+Q, right click and select any comment command, no joy.

      This feature worked in the last version I used.

      Language encoding set to Javascript. It worked when I tried Java and HTML.

      Notepad++ v7.5.4 (64-bit)
      Build time : Jan 1 2018 - 01:50:29
      Path : C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe
      Admin mode : ON
      Local Conf mode : OFF
      OS : Windows 7 (64-bit)
      Plugins : DSpellCheck.dll mimeTools.dll NppConverter.dll

      Ideas?

      Mark

          After more testing it is the Notepad++ v7.5.4 (64-bit) version that does not work.

          I installed the Notepad++ v7.5.5 (32-bit) and the comments work.

            Well I jumped the gun.

            I had to restore from backups to 6.7.1 to get the comments to work and have the styles I have configured to be correct.

              I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with the comment menu commands in Notepad++ version 7.5.4. It seems that the commands are not functioning properly when using JavaScript as the language encoding, although they worked fine with Java and HTML.

              Given that the feature was working in the previous version you used, it’s possible that there might be a compatibility issue or a bug in the current version. One suggestion would be to check if there are any available updates for Notepad++ and install them, as newer versions often address known issues and provide bug fixes.

              In the meantime, you can try a workaround by temporarily switching the language encoding to Java or HTML, which you mentioned were working fine. This way, you can still use the comment menu commands while waiting for a resolution.

              If the problem persists or if you have any other concerns, it may be helpful to reach out to the Notepad++ support team or community forums. They would likely have more specific knowledge about this issue and can provide you with further guidance or assistance.

              Best of luck in resolving this issue, and I hope you can soon enjoy the full functionality of Notepad++ again!
