How do I tell Notepad++ to use spaces to auto-indent instead of tabs?

Tabs are throwing off the tools that I copy Notepad++ text into. I need auto-indent to use spaces only. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

For anyone who follows: Go to: Preferences, Language, over on the right there is a “Tab Settings” list box, below that is a “Change to space”. Put a check in that box.
