the site says that I’ve got to check two unread notifications,
but when I click on it, it says that there are no unread notifications?
so, how am I supposed to read them then?
I tried clicking to see all notifications too, no luck either,
that says "You have no new notifications "

You could click on the bell (notification) icon and then select See All Notifications. The 2 it is talking about should be the most-recent ones. But yea, it is a little quirky, especially if you’ve been away for a while…

yes, I was away for a while,
so no way to get what I’ve missed :(

Well, if you missed the Community THAT much, there is a way. What I do is remember when I was last here, and then using the “clock” icon I read back thru all the messages until I get to the “last here” point. Kinda tedious, I know.

When you have been away for a while, the unread messages indicator as well as the notification indicator seem to lose their minds and show smaller numbers than they should.

thanks, I checked if there was any new answer to the threads I posted (from my profile or something) but I couldn’t find any

I did that and it said “You have no new notifications.” I then looked for this topic and see @patrickdrd had the same issue.

It seems like a quirk as now I see a plain white bell. I still have no idea why it had a red “2” next to it when I signed in.

I believe most people will be “have been away for a while” users.

                  red 2

Well, it is supposed to mean that you have a combination totaling 2 of:

                  • replies to threads you participated in
                  • reputation changes to posts you made

But, as noted before, it seems a bit buggy if you have been away for a while
