Let’s say I have this text:

      a
      b
      c

Now to select the whole thing, I need to drag the mouse all the way to to the top, is there a shortcut to do that?

Have you tried the standard Windows hot keys, ctrl-a to highlight everything, then ctrl-v to copy it. Then in another window or tab, ctrl-v to paste.
