      Thanks Meta Chuh
      I followed your advices: Changed the style with your 2 methods, it worked but after closing N++ and reopening it, it lost my changes and reversed to the original Kakhi. What did I do wrong?
      FORGOT TO say : PC win10 64bits

        Hard to say yet.

        Do you have multiple instances of Notepad++ open? Because if you do, it will save the settings of the last instance to close.

        Could you give us your ? > Debug Info > Copy debug info into clipboard ?

        Also, try the experiment

        1. Close all instances of Notepad++
        2. Open a Windows Explorer window in %AppData%\Notepad++\themes\, and look at the last-modified time and file size on khaki.xml (an Alt+PrintScreen on the RClick > Properties dialog would be good
        3. Open a single instance of Notepad++
        4. Make a change in the khaki styler (as described above)
        5. Exit Notepad++
        6. Refresh the Explorer window, and check if khaki.xml has updated it’s last-modified time (and possibly file size)

        (Note, I am assuming an installed copy, where config files are kept in the %AppData% hierarchy; if that’s not what you have, the Debug Info will tell us, and we can customize the instructions for you.)

            @Alain-Samoun

            thank you for your debug information.
            your copy of notepad++ is not an official release, but a 3rd party release from the windows store, as well as an older version (7.5.9).

            could you please uninstall it,
            reboot and then download and install the official 7.6.6 release from here:
            https://notepad-plus-plus.org/repository/7.x/7.6.6/npp.7.6.6.Installer.x64.exe

            after that please retry changing your fonts as described above.

            note: if you download the official release, you will get an unknown publisher warning, as it has gpg signatures instead of microsoft signatures.
            this does not pose any thread, as long as you only download notepad++ from the only official source at https://notepad-plus-plus.org .

            best regards.

              additional note: i suppose you didn’t do anything wrong, you might have on the contrary, helped to discover a misbehaviour in the 3rd party notepad++ release at the microsoft store.

              ps: i hope you don’t mind both of us answering in an alternating manner.
              we are acting as a team, you can take our replies as one source.

                That worked! Thanks very much to both of you. Yeah MS store better be aware of this problem : I still have an “unofficial Notepad++” in the list of app in win10 that I can’t uninstall I lost at least 1 hour until I contacted you… Thanks again

                        LOL. A valiant try, but it isn’t going to really do anything. :)

                          yes, except serving as a copy paste source, when the next case comes in ;-)

                          just kidding.
                          you are absolutely correct, that we can’t expect people to search for this, as a preventative measure, before downloading notepad++ at the microsoft store, or from portableapps.

                          but i blue-eyedly believe that, as soon as someone discovers an issue with those releases, they will eventually find our topics and this warning, before opening a new topic or issue.

                            I’ve bumped issue#5415, trying to gain traction on at least adding “portable” in prominent locations on the download page, so that eventually people searching for “portable notepad++” will see the official page, rather than the portableapps, as the first and primary link. (I guess it won’t actually help on this one, because the OP got it from the Windows store… but at least the Windows store points out it’s unofficial.)
