Notepad++ hangs for a while when switching tabs if one of them is network file

When a file is opened in NPP from a mapped remote network drive (CIFS), and switching tabs between two (either or both of them are remote files), Notepad++ hangs for nearly 60 to 80 seconds. In a recent release notes (don’t remember the release version) I have read that this issue is identified and fixed. But it is still reproducible.
